As we continue to grow and improve our service offering, we’re looking for a capable and experienced Sales Estimator to delivery a high volume of quality quotations with the goal of converting these into customer orders.
The Role
As a Sales Estimator, you will generate accurate and competitive sales quotes using our in-house cost-plus system. This role requires keen attention to detail to analyse project specifications and schedules. You must possess the ability to convert your quotes into orders. By providing reliable estimates and facilitating order conversion, you directly contribute to securing new business and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1.Project Analysis.
Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documentation to understand customer requirements.
Liaise with customers to gather additional information and clarify project scope as needed.
Identify potential challenges or complexities that may impact project cost and delivery timelines.
Utilise in house software and tools to prepare detailed cost estimates for timber fire door projects.
Collaborate with suppliers to obtain pricing for materials.
Develop accurate cost models and pricing structures based on project specifications and company pricing guidelines.
Generate professional and comprehensive estimates for customers, incorporating detailed cost breakdowns and pricing information.
Email estimates to customers, addressing any customer questions or concerns they may have.
Partner with the sales team to support business development efforts and respond to customer enquiries in a timely manner.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, logistics, and finance departments, to ensure seamless project execution.
About You
You’re an experienced, organised, and customer-focused estimator who thrives on detail and follow-through. You understand the importance of technical accuracy, clear communication, and proactive order management in a specialist manufacturing environment.
You’ll need:
* Previous experience in the fire door, joinery, or specialist manufacturing industry (preferable)
* Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders
* Strong team and organisational skills
* Have strong attention to detail
* Have an understanding of compliance and industry standards (fire ratings, acoustic performance, etc.)
* Strong Office 365 skills, in particular know how to use Excel.
