Board member (net zero/sustainability)

Clarendon Executive
Posted: 3 June
Offer description

Clanmil is one of the largest housing associations in Northern Ireland, proud to provide high-quality mixed tenure homes that deliver a sense of belonging, safe and connected communities, and somewhere where everyone is proud to live and raise their families. The organisation is hugely ambitious and has significant plans for further growth. The Board has a vital leadership role, ensuring Clanmil is best positioned to deliver on its ambitious strategic plan in the years ahead. There are many opportunities along with some challenges that will present over the coming years: digitalisation; decarbonisation; building new homes fit for the future; and ensuring safety, wellbeing, and neighbourhood cohesion alongside their tenacity to get best value from everything they do. Clanmil are seeking to make two new Board appointments as part of the Board renewal process over the next two years and are seeking expressions of interest from candidates with expertise in Legal (to commence September 2025) and Sustainability/ Net Zero (to commence February 2026). Sustainability/Net Zero: Effective long-term investment in new and existing homes, as well as a focus within their day-to-day operations, will be key to Clanmil reaching the 2050 goal of being a net zero organisation. With expertise in developing sustainable practices, this new Board member will help Clanmil to minimise their impact on the environment across all aspects of their work. The appointment of the Board member (Net Zero / Sustainability) will be ratified with the new member to join the Board in February 2026. While these Board member roles are non-remunerated, they present the opportunity to make a huge societal impact which should prove to be immensely rewarding. A detailed information pack and further information on how to apply can be found at Clarendon Executive's website. For a confidential discussion to explore your suitability, please contact Claire McKee at Clarendon Executive. Applications must be received by 10am, Wednesday 25th June 2025. Clanmil Housing believes in equal opportunities for all.
