Role Overview As a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant, you will support teachers in helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation Adapt resources and activities to meet diverse learning and developmental needs Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing Ideal Candidate Experience in care work, supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach Confident supporting behaviour and classroom routines Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn school-based strategies and inclusive practices Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain) No previous school experience required—training and guidance provided.
