About Us:

Our client, a prominent UK contractor in the construction and civil engineering sector, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team based in Cumbria, England. Position Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor at our client's esteemed company, you will play a pivotal role in project cost management, ensuring financial control, and supporting the successful execution of construction and civil engineering projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor looking to take their career to the next level with a leading industry player.

Key Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand project requirements and objectives.

* Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

* Monitor project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.

* Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts.

* Conduct regular cost reporting and analysis to ensure projects remain on budget.

* Assess and manage project risks related to cost and contract variations.

* Provide timely advice on procurement strategies and contractual matters.

* Support value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

* Prepare and review payment applications and change orders.

* Maintain accurate cost records and documentation.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction and civil engineering sector.

* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.

* Proficiency in relevant software and tools.

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

* Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, or similar) is advantageous.
