Job Description:
The Private Wealth & Tax group works with a diverse range of institutions, companies, and high net-worth individuals managing and protecting their assets in the most tax-efficient manner.
Many clients are international, with interests in numerous jurisdictions, including professional fiduciaries and private trustees in the UK and abroad. They face complex tax issues, and our focus remains on wealth preservation, compliance, privacy, and safeguarding reputation and family values.
Based in London, Hong Kong, and Singapore, with lawyers qualified in multiple countries, we advise on formation, administration, taxation, and governance, working closely with local and international advisors.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Shape and deliver the practice group knowledge strategy, collaborating with KLs across departments.
* Coordinate, design, and prepare internal and client legal training, including online solutions.
* Maintain and update key precedents, know-how, and client guides, following firm style.
* Monitor law and practice developments, providing updates to lawyers and clients.
* Leverage knowledge and technology to develop business opportunities and improve client service.
* Contribute content for communication strategies, including client alerts and articles.
* Support business development initiatives with the BD team and fee-earners.
* Manage the Department's knowledge pages on the intranet and other repositories.
* Implement and embed best practices and risk management with Risk & Compliance and Partners.
* Respond to technical law and practice queries from fee-earners.
Skills/Experience
* Ideally 10+ years PQE, either as a KL (PSL) or transitioning from fee-earning with demonstrated KL skills.
* Deep expertise in tax law and private client work.
* Proven business development and knowledge commercialization skills.
* Excellent writing, drafting, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, embracing new legal technologies.
* Resilient, adaptable, proactive, and self-motivated.
* Operational knowledge of Microsoft programs.
