Community Training and Engagement Officer
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x Community Training and Engagement Officers to join the team in West Mercia, covering Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. One role is for 30 hours per week and the other for 22.5 hours per week, actual hours can be discussed at interview. Please state on your application which role you are interested in.
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of excellent services to victims of crime through community-based education and training by raising awareness of local services through a variety of engagement activities.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to get out and about in the local communities, raising awareness of the wide variety of services that we offer to victims of crime across West Mercia.
Key Responsibilities:
12. To develop and coordinate a range of engagement and promotion activities aligned to the priorities of the local service.
13. To develop and deliver a variety of training packages to relevant community partners promoting the work of Victim Support services.
14. To develop and expand awareness of support available, from the local service, people affected by crime with partner agencies and community groups.
15. Promote effective communication channels for service improvement and innovation including participation in regular team meetings, sharing local issues, feedback and learning with other colleagues.
16. Uphold and promote the values of Victims Support and treat colleagues and service users in a fair and non-discriminatory way.
About You:
It is essential to be able to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing and conflicting demands in an organised and effective manner. The post is for 30 hours per week, and a degree of flexibility is necessary. This role will work from home but will have regular travel across the West Mercia.
You will need:
17. Experience of presenting to, training, and developing people.
18. Experience of partnership working, engaging with organisations and building relationships.
19. Experience of gathering, managing and presenting data in reports and presentations.
20. Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people.
21. Understanding and knowledge around the management of personal data and compliance with data protection legislation including
22. Ability to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner.
23. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
24. Ability to build and sustain relationships.
25. Where relevant the ability to manage conflicting volunteer and staff opinions and organisational demands.
26. Experience of developing and delivering presentations, talks, training or workshops
