Overview
The Herefordshire Registration Service is recruiting Ceremony Officers to join our Registration Services Team to conduct and register a range of statutory and non-statutory ceremonies. This is a permanent, casual role with pay per session and various locations across the county.

The Role
We are seeking candidates with excellent communication and public speaking skills. You should have a keen eye for detail and be committed to maintaining high standards in registration practices and customer excellence. Full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
The duties include conducting and registering marriages and civil partnerships at approved venues across the County, including Gardner Hall locations (The Woollard Room and Orangery), on an as-needed basis with no guaranteed hours. You may be required to attend one of the local Registered Buildings. Access to a car is essential.
Flexibility is required as most ceremonies occur during the summer months. You should be available to work during weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays; work patterns are not predictable and may involve short notice.
Qualifications
* Mathematics and English Language passes to GCSE level (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualification.
* Experience of giving presentations/public speaking.
* Experience dealing with the public in a service environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to officiate in marriages, citizenship, civil partnerships and other ceremonies with gravitas and smart appearance.
* Ability to deliver a service that meets high internal and external standards on time.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Ability to address a group with confidence and professionalism.
* Respect for confidentiality.
* Ability to remain calm and professional in difficult or emotional situations.
