The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service dedicated to the nuclear industry. We’re looking for a Control Room Systems Support Technician who can provide practical, technical support and ensure service is maintained to our control-room systems and solutions, ensuring system availability and integrity. You’ll provide practical support to control room operators to manage and rectify faults and issues and maintain system integrity by completing system configuration tasks. Some of your work will require working with the Service Desk and 3rd parties; ensuring that you see the issue through to conclusion. You’ll ensure you have an up-to-date awareness of system and fault status’ and be able to brief the wider team as needed.
We’re looking for someone to be a great team player and communicator – excelling in customer service and engaging with end-users and suppliers. You’ll ideally have some experience in support a digital service(s) and be proficient with modern IT applications in the workplace but also be happy working with and leaning new and unfamiliar systems.
This role will require travel across our CNC operational sites across England and Scotland.
You will also be required to meet the requirements to be granted SC clearance.
Please note that this role will initially be based at our HQ Culham until our relocation to Harwell in Autumn 2026 and the role thereafter will be based at Harwell.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include:
3. Provide day-to-day technical and user support for all service-related activity, fault rectification and issue management
4. Use specialist technical knowledge of the systems to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the systems and their data
5. Log relevant faults with the service desk and 3rd parties, and see through to conclusion
6. Provide excellent customer service to control-room users
7. Support the Configuration Lead to delivery system changes and upgrades
8. Understand and ensure compliance with relevant OpTech and IT system policies, procedures and security operating requirements
9. Liaise and work with control-room leads and Single Points of Contact (SPoCs) at all CNC operational sites
10. Maintain an up to date awareness of relevant systems and fault status’ and be able to brief this to the wider team as required
11. Support the Configuration Lead and Manager by undertaking travel to address system faults, updates and roll-outs at CNC sites

To be successful in the role you will need to display the following experience and skills:
12. Experience of supporting IT related systems, in either a technical support role or customer service role
13. Demonstrable experience working to exemplary levels of integrity and attention to detail
14. Digitally proficient with a good understanding of Microsoft Office applications
15. Ability to plan daily work activities, and prioritise with limited management oversight
16. Excellent communication skills with the ability to fully understand, discuss, and brief complex technical issues within the team, supply chain and end users
17. Self-motivated, proactive, committed to continuous improvement, in terms of both self and service delivery
