Straight-Line Civils are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join a Maintenance Department for a client outside of Dorchester. This Fitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems, instrumentation, and control systems across plant or site operations. You will ensure that all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: * Perform planned preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and instrumental systems * Diagnose faults across mechanical and HVAC systems * Install, commission, and calibrate instruments, including pressure, temperature, level, and flow sensors * Maintain and update control system documentation * Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations * Participate in plant shutdowns, upgrades, and project installations * Respond to emergency maintenance calls and support 24/7 operations if required * To work with the Maintenance Supervisor & Maintenance Manager to monitor and improve productivity and efficiencies on the plant equipment * To assist in reviewing and developing maintenance techniques and procedures and plant & processing capabilities Desirable Qualifications: * HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering * NVQ L2 (minimum) in Mechanical maintenance * Mechanical machinery knowledge * Strong understanding of safe working practices and saf...
