The Role
We are supporting a specialist engineering organisation within the aviation maintenance sector, seeking a proactive and detail-focused Stores Operative to join their small, friendly team. Working within a busy repair and production environment, this position plays a key role in ensuring the accurate flow, handling, and traceability of aircraft components and materials. The role sits within the dedicated Stores department, working closely with workshop and quality teams to maintain compliance with strict industry standards, including Part-145 requirements. This role would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on position in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Receiving incoming deliveries, checking against purchase orders, and verifying airworthiness certification
Booking in parts and reporting any discrepancies
Ensuring correct segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, quarantine, and scrap items in line with procedures
Moving, locating, and packaging goods according to internal processes
Packaging customer units for dispatch in accordance with company requirements
Issuing parts and consumables to the workshop in line with work orders
Preparing components to be shipped for external repair
Supporting regular stock checks and inventory audits
Loading and unloading vehicles as required
Ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory standards at all times
Requirements
Experience within aeronautical, engineering, aerospace, or MRO environments is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Knowledge of Part-145 regulations, component traceability, certification, or stock control systems would be highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail, strong organisation skills, and the ability to thrive within a busy, collaborative workshop are key.
This role could suit someone who has worked as a Stores Assistant, Goods-In Inspector, or Warehouse Operative.
