About the Role
Prospero Teaching is pleased to be working with a welcoming secondary school in Rotherham to recruit a creative and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama. This is a part-time opportunity, working Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of the academic year.
The role offers a varied timetable, with a particular focus on delivering engaging Drama lessons while also supporting the wider school through general cover where required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver high-quality Drama lessons that inspire and engage students
2. Teach across Key Stages (primarily KS3/KS4 depending on timetable)
3. Provide general classroom cover on Wednesdays, alongside two scheduled Drama lessons
4. Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
5. Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
6. Mark and assess work where required
The Ideal Candidate
7. Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Has experience teaching Drama at secondary level
9. Is confident delivering both specialist Drama lessons and general cover lessons
10. Demonstrates strong classroom management and adaptability
11. Has a passion for the performing arts and student development
12. Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to obtain one)
