The role:
1. Managing a portfolio of Defined Benefit pension scheme clients and delivering a high standard of administration services
2. Processing, checking and reviewing pension administration work to ensure accuracy and compliance
3. Supporting the management of team workloads and helping to achieve agreed service standards and targets
4. Maintaining scheme membership records and overseeing member benefit calculations and settlements
5. Preparing client reports, supporting scheme events and assisting with project delivery
6. Building and maintaining strong client relationships and attending client meetings where required
7. Providing technical guidance, coaching and support to pensions administrators and trainee team members
8. Monitoring service delivery and identifying opportunities for process improvements
9. Supporting the Team Manager with workload planning, quality assurance and team development
The successful candidate:
10. Previous Defined Benefit pensions administration experience gained within a third-party administrator or in-house occupational pension scheme
11. Either current Senior Pensions Administrator experience or a strong Defined Benefit Administrator looking to progress
12. Strong technical pensions knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
13. Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
14. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
15. Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of colleagues
16. Proactive approach with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
17. Commitment to delivering high levels of customer service and quality
Desirable:
18. Studying towards or qualified in a recognised pensions qualification such as PMI
19. Previous experience coaching, mentoring or training junior team members
