At AECOM, one of our key business lines is Bridges and we are expanding due to recent high-profile project wins. We are looking for ambitious Civil & Structural Engineering graduates with computational, mathematical and design skills. You will work on projects from concept design to implementation for clients locally, nationally or internationally, delivering results to clients while engaging in technically challenging work.
As leaders in the sector, our Bridges teams offer wide, challenging opportunities in an ever-evolving industry. Our global presence may provide chances to work on UK or international projects between our London, Madrid, Italy, United States and the Middle East offices; assess and maintain the current UK bridge network; or propose renewal structural works for the UK network. We emphasize quality, innovation, sustainability, and collaboration with other disciplines within AECOM. Job Responsibilities
Successful candidates will use industry-leading computer software while working on a variety of bridge-specific tasks, including:
* Structural Design
* Bridge Assessment
* Finite Elements Analysis
* Structural Inspections
* Structures Renewal Feasibility Studies
* On-site Works Supervision
* Scheme Management
Graduates will contribute to the design of structures from inception to completion, undertake assessment of existing structures across stages (on-site inspection and analysis), and manage resources and tasks within a scheme. AECOM is committed to developing graduates by enabling mobility between projects and gradually increasing responsibility.
Qualifications
* BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering, 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above
* MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering advantageous
* Structural modules or Structural/Bridge Engineering experience advantageous
* Good technical understanding of Civil & Structural Engineering
* Demonstrable interest in Bridge Structures Engineering and a career in this industry
* Willing to work toward chartership with ICE or IStructE
* Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
* Effective verbal and written communication with clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors; ability to discuss technical issues and capture feedback
* Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive
* Ability to structure and prioritise work; work well in a team and independently
