Admin Lead – Control Room
Location: Belfast
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday 8am to 4pm)
Salary: £13.57 per hour
MPA Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading public sector client in Belfast to recruit an Admin Lead – Control Room. This important role will see you supporting the Site Co-Ordinator and Assistant Director in managing the hospital Control Room, ensuring services run efficiently, and helping to deliver safe, timely, and effective care for patients.
The Role
As Admin Lead, you will play a vital role in coordinating Control Room activities, supporting senior staff, and overseeing administrative processes. You’ll work with real-time data to ensure the smooth flow of patients through the hospital, promptly escalating issues where care may be delayed. You’ll also manage documentation, lead meeting preparation, and provide supervision to staff within your remit.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing high-level administrative support to senior management.
* Coordinating and attending Control Room meetings, capturing and following up on actions.
* Updating and communicating real-time data to hospital teams.
* Monitoring patient flow from admission to discharge and identifying potential delays.
* Preparing reports using Microsoft Office and the Encompass system.
* Maintaining electronic and manual filing systems.
* Supervising and organising staff daily.
What We’re Looking For
Candidates must meet one of the following:
* HNC/HND in Administration (or higher) with 1 year’s experience at Band 3 level, OR
* NVQ Level 3 in Administration with 2 years’ experience, OR
* 4 GCSEs (A–C including Maths & English) with 3 years’ experience, OR
* 4 years’ relevant administrative experience at Band 3 level.
Additionally:
* 2 years’ experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Confidence to liaise with and challenge staff at all levels.
* Ability to problem-solve, analyse data, and work both independently and in a team.
