The school offers an alternative education for children with social & emotional difficulties such as anxiety and school refusal due to developmental trauma and adverse childhood experiences, as well as specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. The Youth Worker will support children who often feel confused, have low self-esteem, and are disengaged from schooling. Your role as a Youth Mental Health Worker is to provide an education tailored to their individual needs, enabling and empowering them to understand that ‘great minds think differently’, to gain confidence, and to progress in their learning.
This is a progressive, compassionate, and values-based school with a strong ethos and a highly skilled team passionate about their work. Your priority as a Youth Mental Health Worker will be the children’s social, emotional, and mental health development.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related field or experience working with young people. Many children have experienced trauma and require someone with resilience and an open mind to support their mental health challenges.
