Join a close-knit and compassionate team at Hart Veterinary Centre - a proudly independent-feel practice that's been caring for pets and their people since 1993. We're now looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly Waddesdon team.
What the Role Involves
This is a varied and fulfilling role, working across consultations, theatre, and reception as part of a small and supportive 4-nurse, 2-vet team. You'll be based at our Waddesdon surgery, a well-equipped site that forms part of our wider RCVS-accredited hospital group.
You'll work four days per week, with a share of weekends. Shifts are between 9 to 9.5 hours long, with the earliest start at 7:30am and the latest finish at 7:30pm. We rotate duties across ops, hospital and clinics to keep the role balanced, but if you have a particular shift preference, we're open to discussing it.
There's no out-of-hours or on-call, and you'll benefit from a genuine focus on client continuity and gold-standard patient care. CPD is fully supported and encouraged - including further qualifications - and RCVS fees are paid in full.
About Our Practice
Hart Vets operates from two modern surgeries in Bicester and Waddesdon. We're proud to offer a high standard of care using the latest technology, with features including:
1. Digital x-ray and dental suite
2. Idexx lab equipment
3. Modern anaesthetic monitoring
4. Separate cat and dog areas
5. On-site parking and disabled access
Our Bicester site is a 24-hour hospital with dedicated night nurses - a unique offering in the area - ensuring our patients are cared for round-the-clock.
We are a Silver Standard ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic and value low-stress handling and continuity of care.
A Lovely Place to Live and Work
Most of our clients are based in the Bicester-Aylesbury area, though we also serve nearby towns and villages including Oxford, Kidlington, Brackley, Banbury, Buckingham, Winslow and Milton Keynes. Waddesdon itself offers a village feel, with good access to green space and a short drive to larger towns and cities.
What We're Looking For
We're after an enthusiastic, organised and proactive RVN who thrives in a general practice setting and enjoys building strong relationships with clients. You'll be confident in both theatre and consultations, and ideally have a genuine interest in mentoring others, particularly student nurses.
Whether you're looking to develop new skills, pursue a certificate, or simply find a rewarding long-term role with a friendly team - we'd love to hear from you.
