We are exclusively recruiting for a Procurement Manager to lead day-to-day procurement operations across direct spend categories within a regulated healthcare environment. This role is responsible for end-to-end sourcing, category management, tender delivery, contract governance, and supplier performance, ensuring best value, compliance, and continuity of supply to support critical clinical services.
You will partner closely with clinical, operational, and finance stakeholders while supporting the delivery of procurement strategy and measurable cost improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the full procurement lifecycle across allocated direct categories
* Develop and execute category strategies aligned to organisational priorities
* Deliver competitive tender processes for low, medium, and high-value requirements
* Conduct supplier evaluations, negotiations, and recommendations
* Ensure procurement activity achieves best value and risk mitigation
* Maintain accurate contract registers and compliance monitoring
* Oversee supplier onboarding, due diligence, and safeguarding requirements
* Monitor supplier performance and address service issues proactively
* Maintain supply resilience and continuity
* Support delivery of procurement savings targets and efficiency improvements
* Ensure timely procurement to support fast-paced operational demands
* Produce reports, tender documentation, and performance insights
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation
* Work collaboratively with clinical, operational, and finance teams
* Communicate procurement plans, progress, and outcomes clearly
* Promote procurement best practice across the organisation
* Conduct commercial negotiations and provide procurement recommendations
* Approve activity within delegated spend limits
* Escalate high-risk or high-value decisions as required
Experience & Qualifications
* CIPS Level 4 qualified (or equivalent) and working towards Level 5+
* Proven procurement experience within healthcare, medical, or regulated sectors
* Demonstrated success managing direct spend categories
* Strong knowledge of the end-to-end procurement cycle and tendering processes
* Category management expertise
* Strong report writing and tender documentation skills
* Builds trust and strong cross-functional relationships
* Communicates clearly to influence and motivate others
* Resolves conflicts positively and encourages collaboration
* Coaches colleagues and supports high performance
