Pay Range: $110,000 - $120,000
The Payroll Manager will directly manage the multi-state payroll function for both semi-monthly and weekly payroll groups for exempt and non-exempt team members. As the payroll liaison in the Stonebridge Corporate Office, we would assume you are an expert at anticipating the unexpected, providing exemplary customer service, but we also expect you to excel at the following:
Essential Job Functions:
• Maintains accuracy of payroll data.
• Complies with federal, state, and local regulations by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Updates payroll records by reviewing changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, retirement savings, job profiles, and departments.
• Facilitates management and team leaders with understanding of payroll procedures and policies.
• Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, deductions, head counts, etc. for internal and external requirements.
• Determines payroll liabilities by reviewing EE and ER payroll taxes.
• Maintains Tax, Standard Occupational Classification (SOC), and Garnishment accuracy.
• Balances payroll accounts and resolves payroll discrepancies.
• Prepares bank entries for payroll related transactions.
• Consolidates and reconciles data for financial audits and managements requests.
• Responsible for payroll processing and customer service for a semi-monthly hotel pay group.
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
• Manages quarterly tax returns and year end W-2 processing.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks.
• Supervises Payroll Administrators and their pay groups.
• Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in payroll and 3+ years in management.
• Experience with Workday HCM 2+ years strongly preferred or have worked 5+ years with large scale HRIS system.
• Experience with ADP SmartCompliance preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accrual accounting and account reconciliations.
• Meticulous with high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
• Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work under strict confidentiality.
• Highly refined verbal communication skills with pleasant phone manners.
• Prior hospitality experience is highly desirable.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
