We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need,ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including assisted living facilities and private homes. This role requires a blend of practical skills and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for those we serve.
Duties
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
* Provide support in meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
* Engage in behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions.
* Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a caring environment.
* Administer medication as prescribed and assist with any medical needs under supervision.
* Provide assistance with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
* Support clients with dementia care, employing appropriate techniques to enhance communication and understanding.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the relevant authorities.
Requirements
* Previous experience in assisted living or childcare is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by specific client needs.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
* A caring attitude with a commitment to enhancing the lives of those in your care.
* Relevant qualifications or training in patient care or related fields will be an advantage.
* Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.
