All about the Role
The Senior Executive Assistant provides high-level, comprehensive support to Executive Directors and senior leaders at Peterborough City Council. This position requires independent, self‑directed work at pace, managing high volumes of priorities while remaining highly organised and responsive. You will be confident taking direction, proactive, and comfortable engaging directly with Directors, senior stakeholders and partners.
The role acts as a central link between Executive Directors and teams across the organisation, including external partners. You will navigate complex and ambiguous situations, investigate issues, identify solutions and present clear recommendations to Executive Directors.
Working as part of a corporate support team, you will contribute to wider coordination of administrative support across Directors, Senior Executive Assistants and Executive Assistants. You will also be responsible for line managing Executive Assistants, ensuring a high standard of service delivery and continuous improvement.

You are a highly organised and proactive professional with extensive experience supporting senior leaders in fast‑paced environments. You thrive on managing competing priorities, working independently, anticipating needs and resolving issues before escalation.
You bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, build relationships with Executive Directors, senior stakeholders and colleagues at all levels. You are discreet, professional and comfortable handling sensitive information.
