The role: Fabric Technician
The purpose of our Engineering Technician (Fabric) is to support the Supervisor by providing reactive and pre-planned maintenance services to building fabric and engineering services at various sites, following established procedures and safety practices.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering a positive workplace experience across multiple customer locations
* Maintaining high standards of HSE, controlling costs, and improving customer satisfaction
* Building effective relationships within the customer organization
* Ensuring compliance with all processes, statutory requirements, and safety standards
* Providing planned and reactive maintenance, including building fabric and plumbing tasks
* Supporting projects and refit initiatives
* Completing risk assessments and documentation accurately
* Reporting risks, defects, and maintaining Site Activity Log Books
* Participating in emergency call-out services as scheduled
* Supporting development of colleagues and apprentices
* Undertaking Control of Works roles and supporting other qualified personnel
* Understanding and adhering to environmental responsibilities
Person Specification:
* Competence in building fabric tasks such as plastering, joinery, glazing, plumbing, and decorating
* Ability to manage small teams and oversee fabric projects
* Knowledge of HSE requirements and their application
* Attention to detail, urgency, and quality focus
* Experience in a building trade or fabric role
* Knowledge of safety and environmental standards, including manual handling, legionella, PASMA, IPAF, asbestos, and roof working
Desirable qualifications include a Level 3 or equivalent building fabric qualification and a full UK driving license.
