The Role We are looking for a CAD Manager to lead and coordinate CAD delivery across the practice. This is a key role with responsibility for technical standards, quality, efficiency, and team leadership. Working closely with Building Surveyors and design teams, you’ll set CAD best practice, review and approve drawings, mentor the CAD team, and help drive continuous improvement and digital innovation. Key Responsibilities Lead CAD delivery across multiple projects, ensuring quality and consistency Develop and maintain CAD standards, templates, libraries, and workflows Oversee and review 2D (and some 3D) drawings prior to issue Provide expert AutoCAD support and resolve complex technical issues Manage drawing control, file structures, and documentation procedures Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications Mentor and support CAD Technicians and surveyors Coordinate CAD resources, workloads, and programmes Support site surveys and adoption of laser scanning and new technologies Skills & Experience Essential: 5 years’ CAD experience in building surveying, architecture, or construction At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role Expert AutoCAD (2D) skills Strong understanding of building construction and UK standards Proven ability to implement standards, manage quality, and lead teams Desirable: Experience with Revit, BIM, or point cloud data Knowledge of measured and topographical surveys Planning application experience Relevant CAD or construction qualifications Why Join Us?
