Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing and dynamic business based in Worthing. This is a pivotal role for a qualified accountant who thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment and is looking to take ownership of the finance function.
The successful candidate will oversee all day-to-day financial operations, lead a small finance team, and support the executive team with strategic financial insights. While financial services experience is not essential, the role requires strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
* Oversee cash flow, capital allocation, and working capital management
* Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts
* Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures
* Support the CFO with financial analysis and strategic planning
* Lead and develop a small, high-performing finance team
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (including liaison with auditors, HMRC, and external advisors)
Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (CIMA preferred, but ACA/ACCA or equivalent also considered)
* Proven experience in a finance leadership or management role
* Experience managing or mentoring a small team
* Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills
* A proactive, hands-on approach and a willingness to improve systems and processes
* Experience in financial services is a plus, but not required
* Competitive salary of £50,000 – £60,000, depending on experience
* Hybrid working model (2–3 days per week in the office)
