Job Opportunity
We are part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall's most excluded and disadvantaged people. Successful candidates will work as part of the clinical team, alongside in-house services which include outreach, hospital, adult community team, criminal justice and a residential rehabilitation facility.

We are looking for two Alcohol Substance Misuse Nurses to provide a range of harm reduction interventions to clients. You can be based at any of our main offices (Truro, Liskeard or Penzance).
The successful candidates will deliver high-quality, community-based support to individuals affected by alcohol dependency. The role will involve leading healthcare clinics and educational groups and assessing clients, particularly those who use alcohol. You will coordinate community detoxification programmes and be able to educate clients and their families about relapse prevention medication used in alcohol dependence. This is a dynamic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Please note that this position requires you to be a registered nurse with valid NMC registration.
Essential Skills
* Registered Nurse with valid registration via the NMC
* Completed pre-registration Registered Nurse training
* Knowledge and understanding of NMC code of conduct
* Demonstrable experience of comprehensive assessment of need including knowledge of risk assessments and management, and its implementation
* Knowledge of safe storage, handling and administration of drugs in particular controlled drugs
* Understanding of the roles, responsibilities and structures of agencies involved in responding to drug and alcohol issues
* Demonstrable ability to work constructively with a wide variety of groups and individuals in a range of settings and work roles
* Ability to assess plans, implement and evaluate client care and act accordingly if untoward changes occurred
* Ability to plan and prioritise own workload
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to positively engage clients
* Willingness to work flexibly in order to deliver required care in agreement with line manager and other healthcare professionals
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car. You will need to ensure business use is added to your insurance policy
