Welfare Department: The Welfare Team is central to the emotional, social, and mental wellbeing of students. As the Welfare Officer, you will work closely with the Pastoral Leader, SENCO, safeguarding team, tutors, and external agencies to provide early intervention and support for students facing emotional, behavioural, or social difficulties. The welfare hub is a dedicated space where students can access one-to-one conversations, mentoring sessions, emotional support, and targeted interventions. The department works proactively to prevent concerns from escalating and to ensure that every child feels heard, valued, and supported. Key responsibilities include: • Providing emotional and pastoral support to students on a daily basis. • Offering early intervention strategies to help students manage anxiety, social issues, behaviour concerns, or wellbeing challenges. • Maintaining accurate welfare records in line with safeguarding protocols. • Working with external agencies such as CAMHS, social services, and counselling providers. • Supporting attendance and behaviour teams where needed. • Running wellbeing workshops or small groups focused on resilience, emotional regulation, and social skills. • Communicating regularly with parents, carers, and staff. • Promoting a culture of openness, safety, and student empowerment.
