A specialist school for children withplex needs is seeking amitted and skilled SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the team on a maternity cover contract starting after the Easter break.This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a nurturing, therapeutic learning environment where every child is supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, support staff and senior leaders to deliver high‑quality learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
About the Role
1. Deliver small‑group and 1:1 learning sessions in line with teacher planning and individual support plans.
2. Lead lessons when required, ensuring continuity of learning across the curriculum.
3. Support pupils with a range of SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD andmunication needs.
4. Contribute to behaviour regulation, emotional support and positive relationship‑building.
5. Assist with planning, assessment and progress tracking.
6. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment.

7. HLTA status (or equivalent experience with willingness to work towards it).
8. Strong understanding of SEN and SEMH needs.
9. Confident in leading learning and managing small groups.
10. Calm, resilient and nurturing approach.
11. Excellentmunication and teamwork skills.
12. Passion for helping young people ovee barriers and achieve their potential.
