SEN Teaching Assistant – Halifax (HX2)
Daily Rate: £90–£105/day | Contract: Full-time, term-time | Start Date: September 2025
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming Halifax secondary school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their inclusive team.
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and eager to help pupils with additional needs thrive both academically and socially.
What you’ll be doing:
* Working 1:1 and with small groups of pupils with autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs
* Supporting pupils to access learning, ensuring they feel safe and confident in class
* Implementing strategies set out in EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
* Assisting teachers with differentiated activities and classroom routines
* Encouraging social skills, independence, and emotional regulation
What we’re looking for:
* At least 3 months’ experience in a UK school or child-support environment (SEND desirable)
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour and learning challenges
* Team-player attitude, able to work closely with teachers, SENCo, and parents
* Willingness to attend training such as Autism Awareness or Team Teach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
