Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to join our family owned business which has been successfully operating for nearly 200 years in Masham. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing stock levels, overseeing logistics, and ensuring efficient materials handling processes. This position requires a strong understanding of business processes and category management, along with proficiency in data analysis. Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimising excess.
* Conduct regular audits of stock to maintain accuracy and integrity of inventory records.
* Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline supply chain operations.
* Analyse data trends to forecast inventory needs and inform purchasing decisions.
* Negotiate with suppliers for favourable terms and conditions regarding stock procurement.
* Implement best practices in materials handling to enhance operational efficiency.
* Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory transactions and adjustments.
Skills
* Strong understanding of business processes related to inventory management.
* Experience in category management to optimise product assortments.
* Proficiency in data analysis skills for informed decision-making.
* Familiarity with logistics operations and materials handling techniques.
* Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers for cost-effective procurement.
