The Opportunity:

Cactus Communications is a pioneer in content solutions, advancing science through specialized services for researchers, publishers, and academic societies. We seek a dynamic Marketing Manager (B2B) to lead marketing efforts targeting publishers, societies, journals, and research stakeholders. This role is vital for achieving our goals in brand growth, client engagement, and market share within the scholarly publishing ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

1. Understand the challenges and priorities of the publishing industry. Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and client pain points.
2. Develop and implement marketing strategies tailored to publishers, societies, and journals.
3. Create and execute go-to-market plans for new services or partnerships, aligning with business objectives, utilizing various channels to generate leads and meet B2B revenue targets.
4. Manage multi-channel campaigns (email, events, digital, content, social media) to enhance lead generation and brand visibility.
5. Organize global events and evaluate success through lead generation metrics.
6. Use data analytics to assess campaign performance and refine marketing strategies accordingly.
7. Collaborate with internal teams to produce high-quality content (blogs, case studies, white papers, webinars) aimed at B2B audiences. Plan and participate in industry events, webinars, and conferences to build relationships with publishers and societies.
8. Leverage existing activities such as podcasts, newsletters, and social posts to reach target audiences effectively.
9. Coordinate with sales, product, and editorial teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective lead nurturing.
10. Establish partnerships with associations and organizations within the publishing ecosystem.
11. Represent the voice of the customer in internal discussions to ensure marketing resonates with the target audience.
12. Position CACTUS as a thought leader in scholarly publishing through innovative storytelling and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications and Prerequisites:

1. Over 5 years of experience in B2B marketing within academic publishing.
2. Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate complex ideas to internal stakeholders and clients.
3. Expertise in demand generation, account-based marketing, and digital marketing tools.
4. Experience in managing global events and measuring success via lead generation.
5. Strong strategic skills to develop and execute data-driven marketing plans.
6. Proficiency in measuring ROI using tools like Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, or other CRMs.
7. Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.
8. Good understanding of trends like open access, transformative agreements, and digital publishing.
9. Ability to manage remote work effectively and collaborate across different locations when needed.

Application Process:

Ensure you meet the role requirements and have legal authorization to work in the advertised country before applying. Our process includes recruiter screening, a technical assessment, and multiple interview rounds, including a case study. You will be informed in advance of any additional interview rounds.

We are committed to equal opportunity and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We celebrate diversity and prohibit discrimination based on race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, or other protected characteristics.

Accelerating from Anywhere:

As a remote-first organization, we value candidates who:

* Take ownership of their work with minimal supervision, organizing and prioritizing effectively.
* Document work clearly to ensure team alignment.
* Choose appropriately between synchronous and asynchronous collaboration.
* Collaborate across time zones by setting dedicated hours and keeping team members updated through tools like MS Teams.
