The opportunity

By joining our Specialty Claims Team at Zurich, as a Senior Claims Adjuster, you will handle and gain experience across multiple lines of business including, Professional Indemnity, Employment Practices, Directors & Officers, Legal Indemnities, Cyber and others.
The successful Senior Claims Adjuster will provide a quality focused claims service and will be responsible for ensuring the effective and prompt settlement of claims notified to the Specialist Risk group, part of the Specialty Lines Claims Team
What will you be doing?
1. Ensure effective and prompt settlement of claims in the relevant line of business (Financial Lines/Professional Indemnity/Cyber/Legal Indemnities)
2. Investigate and negotiate claims within defined authority limits
3. Mentor claims adjusters, acting as a point of referral, technical guidance and providing oversight (authority)
4. Responsible for file quality reviews (LMRs)
5. Setting of accurate case reserves
6. Contribute to high level technical output from Team
7. Contribute to a positive and supportive Team culture
8. Management of external counsel and experts both locally and internationally
9. Promptly handle and resolve all claims enquiries from customers, brokers and third parties
10. Ability to lead a market through a large and / or complex claim
11. Manage situations of conflict and have the ability to influence and persuade others
12. Engage proactively with large numbers of stakeholders, both internally and externally
Who are we looking for?
13. Numeracy and literacy skills qualified to A level or equivalent
14. Computer-literate with working knowledge of Outlook and MS office
15. Proactive and innovative approach to claim solutions from working within technical claims environment
16. Relevant business/industry qualification
17. Strong technical knowledge of products and services offered by Specialty (& wider business knowledge to support cross sell opportunities). Knowledge of/experience of at least some of Directors and Officers, Employment Practices, Professional Indemnity, Legal Indemnities and Cyber cover preferred.
18. Astute and commercially aware with an awareness of the market, business and risks.
19. Understanding of legislation and legal liability
20. Excellent understanding of London Market Insurance environment
21. Interpretation of policy covers
22. Numerate and analytical thinker with excellent negotiation skills
23. Ability to deliver Thought Leadership on key topics
24. A team player with the ability to deliver excellent customer service
25. Proven experience working in the London Market in a similar role
