We have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor – Electrical to join our Asset Integrity team based in Cornwall. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operation and maintenance of electrical installations and equipment are maintained at a high standard to prevent breakdowns during operation. You will collaborate closely with Mechanical Maintenance Supervisors and Technical Design engineers to ensure maintenance activities align with OEM guidelines, including upgrades, modifications, and major work scopes, maintaining the highest standards.
What You’ll Do
Safety & Compliance
* Champion a safety-first culture by upholding company policies, STAR 10 Life Saving Rules, and the Permit to Work System.
* Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and audits.
* Contribute to procedure development ensuring alignment with Geoquip Marine’s IMS.
* Lead by example in PPE use and safety protocol adherence during all operations, including rig mobilization and demobilization.
Electrical Supervision & Maintenance
* Provide technical assistance for upgrades, modifications, and breakdowns.
* Create scopes of work for upgrades or modifications.
* Inspect completed work for regulatory compliance.
* Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to optimize equipment performance.
* Stay updated on industry trends to recommend upgrades and replacements.
* Advise managers on improving productivity, costs, and quality.
* Create Inspection Test Plans and manage spare parts inventory, monitor critical components' reliability.
Operational Excellence & Leadership
* Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with classification society regulations.
* Supervise third-party electrical contractors on-site.
* Participate in safety drills and emergency preparedness activities.
* Support project planning, upgrades, and mobilizations with the Lead Electrical Systems Engineer.
Mentorship & Continuous Improvement
* Promote continuous learning and professional development.
* Recommend improvements for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Who We’re Looking For
* Extensive experience as an Electrician on drilling rigs, marine, or heavy industry, with some electrical design experience.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with a global team.
* Experience with control systems, joystick valves, and PLC automation.
* Preferred: Accredited Approved Electrical Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) Electrical Engineering, minimum Level 3 Electrotechnical Studies.
* Experience with PLC fault finding/programming.
* Offshore survival and medical certificates.
* Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
* Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Project.
Desirable
* HNC/HND or equivalent.
* Project management experience (training provided).
* 18th Edition wiring regulations.
