Overview: A global financial institution is building a team for its newly established Venture & Growth Lending business in Europe. The team will be based in London and will cover the UK and continental Europe. The bank has successfully developed a banking business for startups and high-growth tech companies in its home markets, quickly establishing a strong reputation. It is now looking to expand into other European markets. The product offering will focus on debt products, including venture debt and asset-backed facilities, along with corporate banking products for tech companies at various stages of development (early-stage, startup, growth). About the job: Main responsibilities: Based in London, the Manager / SVP will report directly to the Europe Head of Risk. The candidate will be responsible for risk management and loan underwriting for high growth tech companies in the UK and Europe. They will contribute to the development of new lending products and underwriting methodologies. This will include: Risk assessment and underwriting of venture debt / warehouse loans for high growth tech clients. Promote the development of new underwriting models for companies with a business model based on revenue growth and with a high technological component. Close monitoring and internal reporting of the debt portfolio performance, proactively identifying and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Cooperate with the venture & growth debt teams to develop industry knowledge on key verticals. Support in the development of new lending products. What we are looking for: Finance, Business or Engineering degree. An MBA or CFA will be a plus. 4 Years experience in credit risk or venture & growth lending to tech companies within a bank or debt fund. Candidates with backgrounds in investment banking or structured debt who are willing and capable of transitioning to the venture lending space will also be considered. Experience in the entrepreneurial ecosystem or in VC Funds is highly valued. Excellent relational skills, with the ability to establish solid, long-lasting relationships with clients and a strong focus on achieving results. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. A team player who thrives in collaborative and diverse environments. Availability to travel occasionally to continental European countries.
