A fast-scaling consumer litigation business is looking to appoint a Senior Litigation Solicitor to join its growing legal team in Manchester.
This is a senior legal appointment for a Grade A solicitor who wants more than a traditional private practice caseload.
You will join one of the most active consumer claims environments in the UK, with work connected to financial mis-selling, consumer redress and major developments in the UK claims market.
The role offers £70,000 to £90,000+ plus benefits and direct exposure to senior legal leadership and partners.
This is not a quiet desk role.
It is a senior position for someone who wants scale, responsibility, commercial exposure, progression and genuine influence over how high-volume litigation is delivered.
The Role
As Senior Litigation Solicitor, you will act as a senior legal point of judgement within the litigation team.
You will work directly with senior legal leadership and partners on complex or escalated matters, litigation risk, case strategy, procedural quality and commercially important decisions.
You will help ensure claims are progressed properly, risks are identified early, legal standards are maintained and commercial leakage is reduced.
You will not simply process files.
You will influence how the legal team handles claims, manages risk, maintains quality and supports client outcomes at scale.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Acting as a senior legal point of judgement within the litigation team
• Managing and supervising consumer litigation matters
• Working directly with senior legal leadership and partners on case strategy, risk and procedural direction
• Reviewing complex, escalated or higher-risk claims
• Supporting group litigation activity where required
• Maintaining high standards of SRA compliance, client care and professional conduct
• Identifying litigation risk, quality issues, process weaknesses or commercial inefficiencies
• Supporting junior solicitors, paralegals and wider legal teams where required
• Contributing to legal workflows, case handling protocols and quality standards
• Helping ensure claims are progressed accurately, efficiently and commercially
The Candidate
You will be a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a current practising certificate.
You will ideally have 8+ years PQE, or equivalent experience at Grade A solicitor level.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
• Consumer litigation
• Financial services disputes
• Civil litigation
• Group litigation
• Professional negligence
• Mis-selling claims
• High-volume claimant litigation
• Regulated legal services
Experience in car finance claims or financial mis-selling would be highly relevant, although it is not essential.
More important is your ability to make sound legal decisions, manage complexity, maintain standards, assess risk and understand how litigation quality affects client outcomes, risk exposure and financial performance.
You will need strong drafting, case analysis and legal review skills, together with a clear understanding of SRA obligations and regulated legal practice.
This role will suit a senior solicitor who is calm under pressure, commercially aware, structured, accountable and confident enough to challenge risk where required.
