Hours: 2 PAs, 2 x 3 hours per week
Area: Sandyford, Newcastle upon Tyne
Rate: £15.00 per hour
Driver with own vehicle essential. Mileage reimbursed.
About the role
I am looking for 2 Personal Assistants to provide 2:1 support to my 15-year-old son with Autism & ADHD, to allow him to get out in the community and participate in activities safely.
He is a happy, adventurous boy, an opportunist, inquisitive, highly active, who enjoys going out & about exploring many places and things. He loves going to town centres, home furniture shops, toilets, going swimming, the Alan Shearer Centre for sensory sessions and adventure parks.
Responsibilities
* Work well as a team, stay calm under pressure and enjoy new challenges.
* Keep up with the son, who is quick and always on the move.
* Support the son in the community safely.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience supporting a young person with Autism & ADHD and challenging behaviours.
* Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, patience, caring, fun, active, reliable, trustworthy and willing to learn.
* Ability to drive and willingness to use personal car for work; usage of petrol reimbursed.
* Must have permission to work in the U.K. at the time of starting employment.
* Subject to a satisfactory DBs check and references if offered the post.
