About You
The successful candidate will:
1. Develop and maintain the regional website and social media channels.
2. Produce engaging multimedia content, including articles, videos, graphics, and press releases.
3. Build relationships with journalists and handle media enquiries.
4. Support members, reps, and activists in developing media confidence and engagement.
5. Provide research and analysis to inform industrial and political campaigns.
6. Drive delivery of GMB’s regional political strategy.
7. Promote member involvement in political education initiatives.
8. Maintain and analyse databases of political affiliations and elected representatives.
9. Manage the regional political budget and associated reporting.
What We’re Looking For
10. Proven skills in writing, editing, and digital media.
11. Experience in political campaigning, media work, or trade union activity.
12. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
13. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence.
