What you will be doing
You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with a range of Mental Health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.
Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.
This is permanent, full-time position 37,5 hours contract.
The shift pattern is 14.5 hours of shift, 3 days a week. That gives regular 6 hours of overtime (can opt out). Will work two long days every other weekend.

Location: Dane House, 52a Dyke Rd Ave Brighton, BN1 5LE
Dane House is a six-bed mixed gender community-based home, with a range of communal facilities including lounges, dining room and kitchen alongside a large garden. The people who are supported at Dane House have severe learning disabilities, autism and behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be seen as challenging. Residents may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems.
People may come to Dane House as part of their care pathway. They may already be living in the community, such as the family home or supported living, but require more structured care and support. They may also be moving out of a residential school. The service is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by a dedicated team made up of the Registered Manager, Team Leaders and Support Workers. All residents are registered with the local GP and access primary care services in the community.
