Day to Day Duties:
* Lead and supervise the shift team, ensuring all personnel adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
* Organise and allocate daily tasks to team members to meet production targets and operational deadlines.
* Monitor site operations including sorting, processing, loading, and unloading of recyclable materials to ensure efficiency and compliance.
* Conduct pre-shift briefings and safety toolbox talks to communicate key priorities and reinforce safety standards.
* Oversee equipment operation and maintenance activities during the shift, coordinating with maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
* Ensure accurate documentation of materials processed, shift reports, and incident logs are completed promptly and accurately.
* Manage waste segregation procedures to maintain compliance with environmental regulations and company standards.
* MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORT
* IT Skills
* Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse shift team.
* Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to recycling and waste management.
* Excellent organisational skills to effectively plan and allocate shift tasks and manage workflow.
* Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing, with team members and management.
* Experience in monitoring and improving operational processes to meet performance targets and KPIs.
* Competence in incident reporting, documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
* Problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to operational challenges or emergencies.
* Certification or training in health and safety, such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH.
* Experience with forklift or plant machinery operation and associated safety certifications.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
* Familiarity with environmental compliance standards and reporting requirements.
