Role Responsibilities
As a Workday Extend Architect, you’ll lead a team of specialist extend consultants on a project, ensuring the successful delivery of extend solutions for the cloud‑based Workday system. You’ll build strong relationships with our customers to understand their requirements, guide the implementation, and support the application throughout its lifecycle.
Key Qualifications
* Proficiency with XML, REST, SOAP, JSON, and a knowledgeable object‑oriented programming language.
* Experience designing applications to solve business and technical problems.
* Good understanding of cloud computing, web services, and associated challenges.
* Excellent customer focus with the ability to assess needs, build relationships, and manage expectations.
* Strong communication skills with impact, credibility, and empathy, including in a remote working situation.
* Formal presentation ability to senior client audiences.
* Strong commercial awareness and full understanding of project and business dynamics.
* Broad business and technology understanding with awareness of industry trends in HR and HR technology.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure while balancing customer demands and Kainos commercials.
Desirable
* Workday HCM certified or experience with other similar HCM/ERP systems.
* Proficiency in other middleware or application development platforms.
* Proficiency in an object‑oriented programming language or web development language.
* Experience designing workflows to solve business and technical problems.
* Experience managing, mentoring, and developing teams.
People Management
* Agree, set, and review goals aligned to Kainos, Workday practice, and your capability.
* Provide support to achieve team goals.
* Review and refine goal relevance and performance progress.
* Conduct 1:1 monthly or project completion feedback meetings.
* Provide regular feedback in Workday.
* Complete End of Year reviews and agree outcomes.
* Identify training to support team development.
* Support career paths and progression.
* Review weekly workload forecasting and utilisation.
* Actively recruit and interview talent.
* Review attrition and retention metrics.
