School Handyperson / Caretaker

Hours: 37 per week
Salary: Trust Grade 7 – 10 (£23,516 – 26,285 FTE)

Lydiard Park Academy are currently seeking to recruit ambitious individuals for a Caretaker role to deliver a high-quality customer service to all teaching and related support operations on the Academy site. Working both as an individual and as part of a team, you will carry out a range of tasks to facilitate an ideal teaching and learning environment for all staff and students.
Responsibilities
* Open and close the site; manage site security and term time keeping on top of general maintenance and school set ups.
* Undertake multi-skilled handyman duties; participate in planned works during out of term time.
* Work unsupervised with good communication skills; maintain a clean driving license and basic DIY skills.
* Be flexible to cover needs as they arise during the course of work; some weekend work may be required if contractors are on site (occasional).
* Work on rotating shifts: Monday to Friday, with 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm shifts; 1 in 3 rotating Saturday overtime.
What does it take?
* School experience isn’t necessary but transferable handyman skills are essential; caretaking experience is preferred, but similar experience will be accepted.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations is beneficial.
* People person, team player, with a passion for providing high standards of service.
* Willing to make a difference every day.
