Overview
We offer the role of Graduate Cost Manager (2025/2026 Graduate) in Reading as part of our Evolve Graduate Programme starting October 2026. The role focuses on supporting building services engineering projects through cost calculations for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Ideal candidates have a 2:1 BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, are available to start full‑time on 5 October 2026, and hold permanent Right to Work in the UK.
Responsibilities
Support building services engineering projects by:
* Mechanical: calculate costs for HVAC systems, ductwork, and mechanical plant installations; review mechanical drawings; perform quantity take‑offs for pipework and ventilation; assist in preparing tender documents.
* Electrical: price lighting, power distribution, fire alarms and data cabling; interpret electrical schematics; measure cable runs; request supplier quotes.
* Plumbing: cost water supply, drainage and sanitaryware; interpret plumbing layouts; calculate pipe lengths and fixture quantities; gather pricing from plumbing merchants.
Qualifications
* 2:1 BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) obtained in 2025 or 2026.
* Full‑time availability from 5 October 2026.
* Permanent Right to Work in the UK, no visa sponsorship required.
* Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and passion for the Built Environment.
