Overview
Amentum is currently looking to recruit a Systems Manager who serves as a technical coordinator and change facilitator within the Waste Systems team, responsible for the design and integration of effluent treatment systems. The role ensures alignment of system configuration activities with project milestones and supports cross‑disciplinary collaboration to maintain design integrity.
Responsibilities
* Define and communicate priorities aligned with project timelines and milestones.
* Provide technical guidance to system engineers and team leads to resolve multi‑disciplinary issues.
* Coordinate with interfacing disciplines such as layout, civil, safety, electrical, instrumentation & control, and commissioning.
* Monitor progress and elevate issues to relevant stakeholders.
* Facilitate team participation in technical committees and reviews.
* Promote design stability and challenge unnecessary modifications.
* Ensure completeness and consistency of design changes before integration.
* Oversee updates to configuration attributes and specification databases.
* Lead cross‑system technical tasks within the Waste Systems scope or broader systems department.
* Report key performance indicators and cascade strategic directives from project leadership.
* Monitor system design maturity and support quality assurance processes.
* Conduct peer reviews of technical documentation in collaboration with team leads.
* Foster collaboration across UK, French, and German engineering teams.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum five years of experience in process engineering or relevant project work.
* Experience in regulated industries such as nuclear, energy, or infrastructure.
* Strong ability to manage individual and team workloads to meet deadlines and performance targets.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
* Proactive in engaging with remote and cross‑functional teams.
* Collaborative mindset and ability to build positive working relationships.
