Position Details

* Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer – Raytheon Sensors
* Location: Glenrothes, Fife, United Kingdom (onsite)
* Grade: P2
* Function: Quality
* Security Clearance: Baseline & SC
* Duration: Permanent
* Hours: 37hrs per week (full‑time)


About the Role

Raytheon are looking for a Quality Engineer for the Sensors & Radar Business Area. Reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer, this role will deliver quality assurance in line with the Quality Management System and Quality Policy across the Sensors business unit. The QA Engineer will be integrated and aligned to the respective program team(s), conducting day‑to‑day quality assurance activities whilst engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation.


Responsibilities

* Write and review Quality Plans and customer or official standard documentation.
* Interpret technical drawings and/or test data.
* Develop and maintain productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Apply knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI), AS9102.
* Perform audits of products and processes within a program or business.
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels and technical SMEs.
* Guide and support team members and stakeholders from a compliance and QA perspective.
* Use SAP for QA related activities.
* Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
* Lead Quality Working Groups to diagnose and mitigate product non‑conformities.
* Manage RCCA and non‑conformance management.
* Provide advice to Program Leads on quality aspects of the work being undertaken.
* Ensure compliance with standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, and create quality documentation.
* Investigate defects to identify and address root cause.
* Support design activities and respective QA plans—e.g., First Article Inspections, Source Inspections, QA Working Groups.
* Check incoming and outgoing products (Certificates of Conformance).
* Conduct internal audits, monitoring, and status reporting for audit findings.
* Assist Engineering & Manufacturing teams to define requirements for new products.
* Serve as customer liaison for external customer visits, quality audits or meetings.
* Manage concession and provide quality support to the technical design organization and program reviews.


Qualifications and Requirements

* Experience writing and reviewing Quality Plans and standard documentation.
* Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and test data.
* Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI), AS9102.
* Experience performing audits of products and processes within a program or business.
* Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, technical SMEs.
* Experience using SAP for QA activities.
* Knowledge of ISO9001 and/or AS9100 standards.
* Experience in Quality Assurance, Internal Auditing, 8Ds, RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) methodologies, GEMBA, stakeholder management, risk reduction and continuous improvement.
* Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills at all business levels.
* Experience in manufacturing and/or quality engineering organisations.
* Self‑starter, flexible, positive attitude, team player.
* Working knowledge of SAP for QA activities.


Desirable

* ISO Auditor training (ISO9001 and/or AS9100).
* Awareness of IPC soldering standards.
* Knowledge of APQP/PPAP, AQAPs QPulse.
