We are looking for a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in adult neuroradiology to expand our team of two neuroradiologists. A second interest in Head and Neck imaging is desirable but not essential. There is an increasing demand for neuroradiology imaging from the neuro oncology and ophthalmology, primary care services as well as general in-patient and out-patient referrals. Bristol has a large oncology centre and is referred patients with primary brain and skull base lesions as well as a quarternary site for haematology including CAR-T therapy. There are multiple trials for primary brain cancers and haematological malignancies based at the Clinical Trials Unit at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre which radiology is fully involved with.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to comply with all relevant Trust policies relating to administration of patient care. This includes working to set timescales for the triage of requests the completion of discharge summaries prior to patients being discharged, following the specified process for the management of patients that do not attend (DNA) their appointment or admission, and the completion of all paperwork deemed necessary to support the management of their patients within agreed timescales. Consultants are also expected to work with service managers and clinical colleagues to manage their caseload in a flexible way, to ensure both clinical, national and local priorities, such as maximum waiting times for referral to treatment, are achieved.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* Full and Specialist Registration in Clinical Radiology with the General Medical Council (GMC)
* or eligible for specialist registration within 6 months or interview
* Or Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or evidence of within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview Please note this does not apply to CESR applications
* FRCR or equivalent
* Teaching or training qualifications
Experience
* Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in general and NeuroRadiology
* Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision
* Neuroradiology Fellowship.
* Head and Neck radiology experience and neck USS and intervention
* Experience of working in the UK Hospital system.
Clinical Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of the role of clinical governance in current clinical practice
* Ability to take on full & independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Skills in teaching under and post graduate students.
* Knowledge of research techniques in clinical medicine
* Knowledge of the use of patient databases and IT websites.
* Evidence of appropriate management training

* Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies
* Knowledge of the principles of clinical audit and evidence of participation
