This is a unique opportunity for a Process Safety Engineer to work at the forefront of the UKs next-generation energy infrastructure – hydrogen and CO₂ infrastructure projects, low carbon-installations, clean energy, and other decarbonisation initiatives.
Process Safety Engineer Responsibilities:
* Apply professional engineering principles, judgement, and innovative thinking to design solutions for pipeline and installation development.
* Lead risk analysis studies including Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Structural Reliability Analysis, and Reliability Availability Maintainability Studies (RAM).
* Participation in and leading Formal Process Safety Assessments including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL rating, safe working design studies, and layout reviews.
* Building proximity assessments for pipeline routing studies.
* Technical assessments such as noise, thermal radiation, and overpressure.
Your background as a Process Safety Engineer:
* Previous experience in of working within the gas transmission or a similar regulated industry sector.
* Experience of carrying out QRA using appropriate software tools.
* Familiar with UK and industry design legislation, standards, and specifications for the gas industry e.g., IGEM, ASME, CDM etc…
* Experience of Hazardous area classification, HAZID, HAZOP, and dispersion modelling.
* You will hold be degree qualified (2:1 and above classification) in a Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
