Job Overview
A Bloomingdale's Cook Professional is essential to the customer experience, helping deliver our mission of being like no other store. Whether serving our famous frozen yogurt or meeting friends for a sit-down meal, our Cook Professionals provide an exceptional culinary experience through ingredient selection, food preparation, and presentation. Our restaurants offer creative culinary dishes that ensure a unique dining experience.
Essential Functions
* Partner with the manager to explore current culinary trends and implement new, on-brand initiatives.
* Collaborate with the manager to create menus for special events.
* Work with the Restaurant Manager to ensure effective communication with staff.
* Be a motivating leader to staff, continuously improving and exceeding customer expectations.
Competencies
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* 1-2 years of direct experience.
* Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
* Flexibility to work retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
* Prolonged standing/walking around the store or department.
* Reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping may be involved.
* Working in a warm kitchen environment may be required.
* Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
