Tasocs Pty Ltd, a leading heat exchange manufacturer, is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Workshop Supervisor to lead our Welding Team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, proven leadership ability, and a passion for delivering high‑quality fabrication and welding work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Workshop Supervisor will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the welding workshop, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily workshop activities to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
* Study drawings and specifications to determine materials, procedures, and tools required
* Complete work orders and documentation for materials and repairs
* Inspect equipment, tools, and finished products for quality and compliance
* Conduct stock checks and order consumables
* Delegate tasks and attend production meetings
* Mentor and support team members to develop their skills and performance
* Plan and track jobs in collaboration with the Workshop Manager to meet deadlines
* Monitor welding hours against project quotes and report on progress
* Complete ITPs and weld traceability documentation
* Train staff as required and ensure jobs are completed to a high standard
* Maintain equipment and workshop organisation
* Prepare job cost estimations
Qualifications & Requirements
* Certificate 10 / CSWIP (Welding Supervision) – preferred
* Trade qualification in Fabrication/Welding (Certificate III or higher)
* Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and quality assurance procedures
* Demonstrated supervisory or team leader experience in a workshop environment
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
