The successful applicant will be responsible for building a positive culture of sport and physical education across the school. They will promote and deliver exciting, enjoyable, and inclusive lunchtime and after-school sports clubs where children from a range of ages, backgrounds, and abilities are made to feel like they belong and are able to succeed. Interpersonal qualities are essential as they will work alongside class teachers in a coaching and mentoring capacity to enhance PE lessons, which we offer children from the ages of 4-11. We strive for the children’s skills and abilities to be tested in respectfully competitive scenarios, so the successful candidate will arrange and lead competitions in a variety of sports within Wrekin View Primary and against other primary schools, both in the Learning Community Trust and local area. Our children’s safety is paramount, so all lessons, clubs, competitions, and resources will be comprehensively risk assessed by the applicant. They will have budgetary responsibility for sourcing and purchasing appropriate resources which have a positive impact on the children’s ability to access their PE lessons and sports clubs. They will work alongside senior leaders to write and deliver the school’s sports premium funding policy to ensure that all children are allowed to flourish regardless of personal circumstances – a genuine passion to inspire young people and a wholehearted commitment to reducing obesity levels is crucial.
