We currently have an opening for a Wastewater Environmental Protection (Chemical Dosing) Technician to join our team across Devon. Based out of Exeter, this full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary of £27,000 - £41,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role:
As our Environmental Protection Technician, you will provide operational support to safeguard and optimize our chemical dosing installations. Your responsibilities include visiting sites within your area, adjusting dosing to ensure compliance and protect against over-dosing, monitoring pH and chemical use, maintaining online instrumentation, and reporting on operational status.
What you'll be doing:
* Visit chemical dosing sites regularly (vehicle provided)
* Report on chemical use and efficiencies
* Coordinate with local teams on dosing adjustments
* Analyze chemical consumption trends and anomalies
* Inspect and maintain dosing equipment
* Investigate parameter breaches
* Assist in risk assessments for non-routine work
* Ensure online monitoring equipment functions correctly
* Report faults and follow up for resolution
* Monitor wastewater quality and report findings
What we are looking for:
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C (Maths, English, Science)
* Experience in a scientific or operational environment (preferred)
* Clean driving license
* Understanding of chemical dosing and phosphate removal
* Team player
* Passionate about environmental protection
