It is essential you have audit accountancy practice experience for this role. Our client is seeking an Audit Manager within the Audit & Assurance team. This is a key role, requiring a passion for audit, and we are looking for an accomplished audit professional with previous experience operating at a manager level who shares this enthusiasm. You would make a significant contribution towards the overall future development and success of this service line as well as the firm as a whole.
You would oversee the effective management of a substantial portfolio of clients; planning assignments, briefing staff on the clients' business, ensuring all work carried out is compliant with auditing standards, and that client and statutory deadlines are routinely met and exceeded.
You would also oversee advisory engagements as part of your developing role. Business development experience would be an advantage, as the role provides the opportunity to identify new business, research and prepare proposals, and take part in formal presentations to prospective clients.
Your role:
* To profitably manage a substantial portfolio of clients in the office, ensuring both excellent client service and contributing to the future development and success of the service line and the firm.
* To manage assignments following the firm's procedures, confirming arrangements with clients, including costs and billing.
* To ensure audit quality at all times, assisting with quality assurance and ensuring actions are completed in line with standards.
* To brief staff on the client's business, supervise work, and undertake training and appraisals.
* To complete jobs within budget, discuss issues with the partner and client, especially regarding overruns.
* To liaise with clients throughout the year, practicing excellent client service.
* To coordinate with other departments, identifying and servicing client needs.
* To develop knowledge of the firm's specialist services and undertake special work as appropriate.
* To perform review and completion procedures, attend final meetings, and ensure timely delivery of final accounts and reports.
* To oversee adhoc advisory projects.
* To ensure recoverability of work in progress and timely billing.
* To maintain technical knowledge through reading and courses, fulfilling CPD requirements.
* To research and prepare proposals for new work and participate in presentations.
* To act as line manager to students and seniors.
* To participate in seminars and follow up on contacts made.
* To attend staff meetings and training, and perform other duties as reasonably requested.
The person: Candidates must be ACA or ACCA qualified. Previous experience at a manager level in a similar role is required. Proven experience managing a client portfolio, developing client relationships, and producing high-quality audits is essential. Experience within the SME sector and charity sector is advantageous but not mandatory. Business development interest and experience are highly desirable.
