Role Purpose
Responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, delivering accurate reporting, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial insight to drive performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial integrity.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Provide variance analysis and commentary on performance.
* Support cashflow forecasting and working capital management.
* Manage accruals, prepayments, and month-end close.
* Provide financial analysis to support decision-making.
* Partner with operational teams and budget holders.
* Support statutory accounts preparation and audit processes.
* Ensure compliance with VAT and financial regulations.
* Maintain and improve financial controls and processes.
* Identify and implement efficiency improvements.
* Support financial systems and process development.
* Supervise and support junior finance team members.
* Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders.
Person Specification
* Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
* Experience in a finance role within an SME.
* Strong experience in management accounting and reporting.
* Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
* Proficient in Excel and financial systems.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Desirable
* Experience in multi-entity or group environments.
* Previous team management or mentoring experience.
* Exposure to business partnering.
* Experience improving financial processes or systems.
